Terms of service

1. General

These Terms of Service govern the relationship between Foxed & Bound OÜ 17520175, registered address Vihitaja 1-4, 12916, Tallinn, Estonia), trading as Foxed & Bound ("we", "us", "our"), and any person ("you", "the customer") purchasing goods or services through the online store at [foxedandbound.com] ("the Shop").

By placing an order through the Shop, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agreed to these Terms of Service, our Privacy Policy, our Refund Policy, and our Shipping Policy.

These Terms apply to all sales made through the Shop. We may amend these Terms at any time; the version in force at the moment of purchase governs that purchase.

2. Who we are and what we sell

Foxed & Bound is a curated online shop selling printed books, stationery, writing tools, reading accessories, gift boxes, and monthly book subscriptions. We ship within Estonia, with additional destinations announced on our Shipping Policy page.

3. Pricing and currency

All prices are displayed in euros (EUR). Prices include all applicable taxes once we are registered for VAT; until then, prices are not subject to VAT. Shipping costs are shown separately at checkout. We reserve the right to correct pricing errors before an order is confirmed; if a clear pricing error is discovered after the order, we will contact you and offer either the corrected price or a full refund.

4. How a contract is formed

A binding sales contract is formed when we send you an order confirmation by email. Adding products to your cart, beginning checkout, or receiving an automatic acknowledgement of receipt does not constitute acceptance on our part. We may decline an order, in whole or in part, for any lawful reason, including stock unavailability, suspected fraud, or shipping restrictions; if we do, any payment already taken will be refunded in full.

5. Payment

We accept payment via Estonian bank links (SEB, Swedbank, LHV, Coop, Luminor) and major payment cards through our payment processor, Montonio Finance OÜ. Card and bank-link data are processed by Montonio and the relevant bank; we do not store payment card details on our servers.

For subscriptions, payment is taken automatically on the agreed billing date using the payment method you provided at sign-up via Stripe. You may update or cancel your subscription at any time from your customer account.

7. Right of withdrawal (14-day cooling-off period)

You have the right to withdraw from this contract within 14 days without giving any reason, in accordance with the Estonian Law of Obligations Act (Võlaõigusseadus) and Directive 2011/83/EU. The full withdrawal procedure, exceptions, and a model withdrawal form are set out in our Refund Policy.

8. Statutory warranty for defects

Under Estonian law, you have a statutory right to remedies for defects in goods that existed at the time of delivery and become apparent within two years of delivery. If a defect appears within the first year, it is presumed to have existed at delivery unless we can show otherwise.

If goods are defective, please contact us using the details in our Contact Information page. We will offer, in order of priority and as appropriate: repair, replacement, a price reduction, or cancellation of the contract with a full refund. The statutory warranty applies in addition to, and does not limit, your 14-day right of withdrawal.

9. Subscriptions

Our monthly book subscriptions (Monthly Book Club, Reader Plus) renew automatically each month until cancelled. You may cancel or pause your subscription at any time from your customer account, before the next billing date, and the cancellation will take effect at the end of the current billing cycle. No refunds are issued for partially used subscription months.

Gift subscriptions (3-month and 6-month) are prepaid for the full subscription period and do not renew automatically. Gift subscriptions cannot be cancelled or refunded after the first parcel has been dispatched; address changes remain possible until shipping.

If the book selected for a given month has already been read or owned by the subscriber, one replacement per twelve-month period may be requested before the shipping date for that month.

10. Intellectual property

All content on the Shop — including text, editorial notes, photography, brand marks, and layout — is the property of Foxed & Bound or used with permission. You may not copy, reproduce, or redistribute this content for commercial purposes without our written consent. Product titles, ISBN data, and short publisher descriptions may originate from publishers and remain their property.

11. Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by Estonian law, our total liability for any claim arising from a single purchase is limited to the amount paid for that purchase. Nothing in these Terms excludes liability for intent or gross negligence, or any liability that cannot be excluded under Estonian consumer law.

12. Applicable law and disputes

These Terms are governed by Estonian law. Any dispute will, where possible, be resolved through direct communication. If we cannot reach agreement, you have the right to refer the dispute to:
