Our Story

We are Tim, Aleksandra, and Zelda (her actual passport name is Golden Medea Laurina but she is too silly to be named this way). We are a family from Estonia building a little calm space for avid readers and other people seeking calmness and slowness in their lives. You might be one of these people. Or you might know someone who needs it.

The whole premise of our family shop is around being out of the loop. Scrolling, tapping, counting pages, clicking, swiping. All of this is cheaping out on the experience of living.

Even coming to a bookshop is often an overwhelming experience with millions (yes, you've read it right) of books coming out every year. The endless shelves and all the good covers on them cause choice fatigue to our minds. It is what happens with me visiting such places. It is what happens with a lot of people.

Less digital. More analogue. Write by hand. Stop tracking read pages and read what can actually have impact on your state of mind. Not only intellectually, but emotionally.

We do forget physicality of the world. And with this shop we do want to return it to ourselves and other like-minded people. We don't do bestsellers lists. We do not cater to everyone with choice of thousands of titles. We curate. We recommend what we've actually read, or would read, or use ourselves. You're welcome to join us.
